Incurable Nostalgia I不癒之境
This project is part of “Incurable Nostalgia” solo exhibition created during the artist residency at the 18th Street Art Center
Incurable Nostalgia is a two-channel video project documenting a site-specific performative drawing where the artist superimposed her childhood home kitchen at her current home/studio. This project intends to express the longing for the home that no longer exists and how it reflects the collective grief and mourning for the impossibility of this mythical return under the current pandemic era. The video juxtaposes the drawing and erasing processes, past and present, ghostly memory, and everyday life to represent the gesture of adaptation to a new environment and new normal.
